    Dear Esteemed Supporter,

    I hope this message finds you in good health and surrounded by peace. With deep gratitude and hopeful aspirations, I, on behalf of Mahabodhi Residential School Tuichawng, extend heartfelt greetings to you.

    In 2016, Mahabodhi Residential School was established with a noble purpose—to provide quality education for underprivileged Chakma children. Unfortunately, the Chakma community in Mizoram is not only financially poor but also educationally backward, making it difficult for many children to access quality education. As a village-level community worker, I felt a strong responsibility to work for my people, particularly to educate underprivileged children, as the Chakma people are a small indigenous community in this region.

    Our mission is to uplift these underprivileged minority Chakma children through Mahabodhi Residential School Tuichawng. This school serves as a beacon of hope, offering both general and holistic education to poor and underprivileged children. However, our journey faces obstacles, particularly in providing essential facilities.

    Importance of a Meditation cum Prayer Hall

    1. Personal Growth: A dedicated space for meditation and reflection is essential for nurturing the personal growth of our students. It will serve as a sanctuary where they can practice mindfulness and cultivate inner peace.


    2. Cultural Preservation: The Chakma people have a rich cultural heritage. A meditation hall will help preserve and promote this tradition for future generations.


    3. Community Unity: This hall will be a place for communal gatherings, fostering a sense of unity and belonging among the students and the local community. It will be a venue for celebrations, teachings, and other important events, strengthening our community ties.



    Importance of a School Hall

    1. Educational Enhancement: A well-equipped school hall is crucial for providing a conducive learning environment. It will be used for lectures, workshops, and extracurricular activities, enriching the educational experience of our students.


    2. Holistic Development: The hall will support the holistic development of both hostel students and day scholars by offering a space for physical activities, cultural programs, and moral teachings.


    3. Safety and Comfort: Currently, our makeshift facilities are inadequate, especially during adverse weather conditions. A proper school hall will ensure the safety and comfort of our students, allowing them to focus on their studies and personal growth.



    The Urgency of Support

    The Chakma people, as a micro-minority, face significant challenges due to financial hardships. If neglected, we foresee a future where our community may be divided, with significant social and cultural repercussions. To ensure the continued prosperity of our community, we urgently need support and guidance from kind-hearted individuals around the world. Your generosity will help us provide the necessary resources to create a nurturing environment for our students.

    Even the smallest contribution can make a tremendous difference. What may seem like a modest donation in other parts of the world can go a long way here in India. A small amount from you could provide crucial resources and facilities for our students, turning it into a large and meaningful impact in our community.
